Who We Are
Holistech Limited was established early 1999 by Peter Weston and Claire Civil.
Based in central Scotland we have worked with a wide range of organisations throughout the UK and Europe, including architects, film producers, game designers and manufacturers, NGOs, accountants, hoteliers, retailers and brewers as well as other design and technology companies.
Founders
Peter Weston is a self-proclaimed nerdy geeky techie. His long hair predates the computer science degree, but the ever changing (and often ill-advised) facial hair seems to be an attempt to infiltrate 'new media'. He joined the company after more years than he likes to admit of IT support for Digital Equipment, Motorola, and a couple of IT consultancies - a background which left him with an insatiable desire to fix tricky technical problems and a fascination for the intricate, mind-numbing, details of all things computery. These days he keeps our servers running, pontificates on technology, prototypes big-name electronic games, programs online widgets, leaps databases in a single bound, and makes the coffee.
Claire Civil, despite her protestations, is a 'new media' guru. In an industry built on smoke, mirrors, hype and trendy haircuts she stands out by rejecting these keystones and concentrating on common sense, value for money, and things that do what they are supposed to do. After her degree she worked as a psychologist, but denies that everything since has just been a long field experiment. These days she mostly produces animations, photoshops (edited pictures), video and websites.
If you're lucky she will even work on projects that don't involve penguins.
